Our programs are designed to help doulas strengthen foundational skills, build confidence, and develop sustainable careers in birth work.

  • Continuing Education Workshops

  • Community Birthworker Support

  • Business Mentorship

Become a NBDA® Doula

Compassionate Training Rooted in Advocacy, Education & Community

Becoming a doula is more than learning how to support families on their perinatal journey, it is stepping into meaningful, life-changing work that helps families feel informed, empowered, and cared for during one of the most transformative seasons of life.

At Metro Atlanta Perinatal Therapy & Wellness Collective, we proudly train and support doulas trained through the National Black Doulas Association, an organization committed to improving birth outcomes, advancing culturally responsive care, and expanding representation within the birth worker community.

Why Become Certified?

Certification can help doulas strengthen their knowledge, expand professional opportunities, and increase confidence when serving families in a variety of settings. Certified doulas often gain additional credibility with clients, community organizations, healthcare providers, and employer-sponsored wellness programs.

Certification may also support doulas in:

Building sustainable birth work careers

Increasing professional visibility

Accessing continuing education opportunities

Expanding referral networks

Developing stronger advocacy and client support skills

Pursuing partnerships with healthcare and wellness organizations

Benefits of National Black Doulas Association® Certification

NBDA-trained doulas may have opportunities to participate in employer and insurance-supported wellness benefit programs that help families access doula care more easily.

Depending on eligibility, training completion, and individual credentialing requirements, NBDA-certified doulas may be able to:

Participate in programs connected to TRICARE support pathways

Work with employer wellness benefit platforms such as Carrot Fertility and Maven Clinic

Provide superbills that clients may submit for potential insurance reimbursement

Expand accessibility for clients seeking reimbursable doula support services

Note: Because reimbursement and credentialing requirements can vary by organization, insurance provider, and state guidelines, doulas are encouraged to verify current eligibility requirements directly with each platform or payer source.

A Growing Need for Compassionate Birthworkers

Families are increasingly seeking doulas who can provide emotional support, education, advocacy, and culturally responsive care throughout pregnancy, birth, postpartum recovery, and reproductive health experiences.

As awareness surrounding maternal mental health and birth disparities continues to grow, the demand for trained, compassionate doulas continues to expand throughout Georgia and across the country.

Is Doula Work Right for You?

You may feel called to birth work if you:

Feel passionate about supporting families

Value advocacy and education

Desire flexible and meaningful work

Want to improve outcomes within your community

Feel drawn to nurturing, emotional support, and holistic care

Doula work can be both deeply rewarding and transformational; not only for the families you support, but for your own personal and professional growth as well.

Metro Atlanta Perinatal Therapy & Wellness Collective proudly supports the development of compassionate, culturally responsive birth workers through education, mentorship, and professional guidance.

Mentorship Opportunities

Our mentorship program provides practical guidance, case study review, business support, and hands-on learning for doulas seeking deeper support beyond traditional certification programs.

Why Mentorship Matters

Birth work extends far beyond what can be covered in a training weekend. Mentorship helps doulas bridge the gap between certification and confident practice while feeling supported every step of the way.

We believe supported doulas are better able to provide grounded, compassionate support to the families they serve.

Guidance Beyond Certification

Completing a doula training is an incredible first step, but many doulas quickly realize that entering birth work and building confidence in real-world settings can feel overwhelming without continued guidance and support.

Our mentorship programs are designed to help emerging and growing doulas strengthen their skills, deepen their confidence, and receive practical support as they transition into sustainable birth work.

At Metro Atlanta Perinatal Therapy & Wellness Collective, we believe doulas deserve community, encouragement, and mentorship while learning how to navigate both the emotional and professional aspects of this work.
